DO YOU UNDERSTAND CALVINISM?
A PRACTICAL TEST ANSWERS TO QUIZ

CALVINIST QUIZ QUESTIONS     CALVINIST QUIZ ANSWERS
1) The difference between a Calvinist and a hyper Calvinist is:
A/ Just one of degree
B/ No difference
C/ A hyper Calvinist denies some important parts of the Calvinist belief
RIGHT ANSWER:
(C) There is a world of difference between the two. The true Calvinist believes that all men, including the non elect, are duty bound to repent and believe the gospel. This is denied by the hyper Calvinist.
2) When it comes to evangelism and soul winning, a Calvinist:
A/ Evangelise only the elect
B/ Evangelises (as much as he can) all men
C/ Does not evangelise at all
RIGHT ANSWER: (B) This is another difference between true Calvinists and the Hypers. Since we do not know who the elect are among the unsaved, we preach indiscriminately to all men without exception or distinction. We believe in soul winning as much as any man.
3) Calvinists "limit the atonement" in:
A/ It’s merits or worth
B/ It’s intention or purpose
C/ It’s proclamation
RIGHT ANSWER:
(B) We challenge any man to say that Christ purposed on the Cross to save those who were or will be in hell. If he did, then He signally failed. Big time. However, meritoriously, the atonement has no limit and so is sufficient for the whole world, but efficient only for the elect.
4) Calvinist’s believe that evangelism is:
A/ The means God uses to accomplish His own purposes
B/ A waste of time
C/ An Arminian invention
RIGHT ANSWER:
(A) Calvinists alone are consistent here. God has not only ordained the end but not the means (Hyper Calvinism) or the means without the end (Arminian/None Calvinism) but both the means and the end.
5) Calvinist’s believe TOTAL DEPRAVITY means:
A/ Sin has affected the whole man: body, soul and spirit
B/ Every man must be as wicked as he possibly can be
C/ No third option!
RIGHT ANSWER: (A) Of course, men are not as wicked as they possibly could be i.e. every action murderous or every word a horrible blasphemy. Although this is because of God's restraining influence (Psalm 76:10) It is just that sin has conquered the whole of man's being so that in him there dwells no good thing. No divine spark.
6) Calvinists believe that God damns men for:
A/ The sheer fun of it 
B/ Their own personal sin 
C/ Only to prove His justice 
RIGHT ANSWER: (B) The Bible always puts the responsibility fairly and squarely on the shoulders of the sinner. And in any debate, so should we. God is totally sovereign…man is totally responsible. No contradiction between the two. Judas by transgression fell.
7) Calvinists believe that God elected men to salvation when they were viewed:
A/ In a state of neutrality
B/ Were viewed as sinners
C/ God didn’t elect men at all
RIGHT ANSWER: (B) If this was grasped, then the Calvinistic-God-is-a- monster scenario would never crop up. Neither would the thought that God has to deal equally with everybody. If Christ was under no obligation to die for anybody …then He didn't have to die for everybody. Otherwise grace is no more grace.
8) Calvinists believe that God’s grace:
A/ Can never ever be resisted
B/ Can never ever be resisted by the elect
C/ At a certain point only can the elect never resist the grace of God
RIGHT ANSWER: (C) Did this one throw you? Experience alone shows how even the very elect constantly rejected God…but there does come a time when the decree of God kicks in & sinners are wonderfully converted.

See our page on Taking on the Calvinists where we deal with Acts 7:51
9) Calvinists believe that the elect
A/ Are left to their own free wills to come to Christ
B/ Are brought kicking and screaming to Christ
C/ Have their wills renewed by the power of God and are brought willing to Christ
RIGHT ANSWER: (C) It is amazing how many think Calvinists believe in irresistible violence! We believe that man's will (being corrupt) needs to be renewed by the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit and then he comes willingly to Christ. If the Spirit does not so move, man will continue to reject the gospel and embrace his sin and be lost.
10) Calvinists believe that the saints
A/ Will persevere through God's appointed means and by God's help
B/ Won't all persevere 
C/ Will be saved whether they are holy or not 
RIGHT ANSWER: (A) Again, we are back to the use of means. It is amazing how many none Calvinists become hyper in their thinking and abuse the tremendous truth that "once saved, always saved" even if there is no holiness etc.,
11) Calvinists believe that all non Calvinists professing faith are:
A/ Damned until they formally accept the 5 points of Calvinism
B/ Heretics with whom we should have nothing to do
C/ Fellow believers in the Lord
RIGHT ANSWER: (C) Ignore the fringe groups…while we view Calvinism (merely to borrow a title) as the gospel in its fullness, we really do accept that those who cannot see these things yet are heaven bound if they are really trusting in the blood of Christ alone to save them.
