SIXTY SIX BOOKS YOU MUST READ BEFORE YOU DIE!
|
| These 66 Books are all found in the One Library which we call 'The Bible' i.e. the Inspired Word of God. | All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2 Timothy 3:16) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Peter 1:21) |
| You need to read the Bible before you die, because it, alone, contains the vital information which you need to prepare to favourably meet your God and be saved for all eternity. | And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Hebrews 9:27) Prepare to meet thy God (Amos 4:12) The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. (Psalm 19:7) And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (John 8:32) |
| Sober thought: Translating the Bible cost Tyndale his life. | The English speaking world is indebted to William Tyndale who translated the Bible from the original languages (as opposed to merely from the somewhat dubious Latin) into the English tongue. it is estimated that the Authorised Version contains approximately 90% of Tyndale's work. He wascontinually hunted by the (Roman) Church authorites as a heretic and lived and worked in exile, before being betrayed by a "friend" in Antwerp and burned cruelly at the stake in October, 1536. |
| You can get your own copy for less than the price of an hour's wage. | Bibles come in all shapes and sizes and at all different prices, from cheap economy paperback editions to those bound in expensive leather. Whatever. A good, clear copy is advisable and within reach even of the poorest soul. http://www.tbs-sales.org |
| Jesus Christ: "To Him give all the prophets witness." (Acts 10:43) | Jesus Christ is the theme of the Bible. The Bible is more than a mere history book, or manual for moral living. Both Testaments speak of Christ - the Old Testament obviously prophetically, while the New historically. The reason for this becomes apparent in the next section: |
| Jesus Christ: "Neither is there salvation in any other" (Acts 4:12) | Let
us not worry about being (so called) politcially correct! The issue is
spiritual. Is it 'right in the sight of God?' is all that matters.
Salvation is not found in a religion (Reformed, Roman, Jewish, Orthodox
or whatever) but in a Person - Christ alone. Jesus Christ alone, as the Eternal God, died for the guilt sinners. He went to Calvary's Cross and gave His life as a ransom for many (Matthew 20:28) He alone has the authority to forgive sins. Flee to Him alone as your Saviour. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved. (Romans 10:13) |
